Clouds ( Bread )

"Bread" has always been one of my favourite bands, for so many reasons. I used to listen to them a lot when I was little... many years have passed and here I am still enjoying and singing their songs (shame I can't play guitar like them hehe).

They have some powerful rock tunes, oh yes. But also really beautiful slow songs. Some of them, as simple as this one, that talks about someone on a plane watching the clouds and reflecting on many things in his life...
I guess many of us have done that sometime on a plane. Look through the window and amaze ourselves at the beauty of an endless sky, and us being on top of the clouds, way up high.... and maybe , like me, wishing that for a moment we could step out of the plane and simply land on one of those fluffy clouds.... Hmm I wonder... what's the smell of clouds? :) Does anybody know?

The picture I used for this post is actually from Gran Canaria (you can click on it for a closer view). That rock you can see there is "El Roque Nublo". You can walk up there and watch "El Teide" on the island in front of us, Tenerife... and then enjoy the seacloud (mar de nubes) .... millions of clouds in between.... Beautiful, isn't it?

"Come away with me"...... Norah Jones

"Come away with me and I will write you a song ...
Come away with me and we'll kiss on a mountain top...
Come away with me and I'll never stop loving you...
So all I ask is .... for you to come away with me in the night"

This Norah Jones' song is really beautiful. Well, at least to me it is. And I never thought I would dare to do a cover with my voice, but you know... well, nothing is impossible, never say never , etc hehe... :)
I sang this very late , on a quite night, when I just felt sort of inspired to do it. In some parts I am almost whispering. But isn't it funny how sometimes we hear a song and we know we just have to sing it, right there and then. So here it is! Please feel free to leave me feedback.

Lately I am feeling more "adventurous" to try different styles , many of my all time favourite songs, very special ones, that I never thought I would do... and they will be coming to this site, little by little. It makes me very happy and I have to say, I have had a lot of support to challenge myself and to even discover new "voices" in me, like it happened here with this song. So to my dear "supporter" friend hehe ... an infinite "thank you" and many kisses and hugs!! ;)

Problems with the hosting site

Well, it seems there are some problems with the place where I host my music files. And sometimes you can hear the songs, some other times you can't. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do, except to wait for that site to solve those problems. The songs in the playlist are not affected, since they are stored somewhere else. I am sorry for this little inconvenience, and I do hope it all will be back to normal soon! Thanks for coming, your support and your comments mean a lot to me. Have a great weekend!

"Another day that time forgot" ...Guillermo y Mónica en dueto

Well, and today, after a long time away from the microphone, I sang again. It was a strange feeling, after all these difficult months, but it couldn't have been any better, and I couldn't be any happier. I had the chance to duet with a very special friend of mine, great guitar player and singer and also the one to blame for this collaboration, since it was all his idea! ;) He chose the song and it was love at first listening! "Another day that time forgot" by Neil Diamond and Natalie Maines, lead vocalist of the Dixie Chicks, a beautiful ballad that we sort of sped up a little bit for the acustic version.

This is my first time singing an "unpigged" (I guess I will keep calling them like this from now on ahaha) and I enjoyed it soooo so much! It was very easy to follow Guillermo's lead, the singing came very easy and natural to me, as if we had been duet partners for ever! ;)
The only problem I had was my eternal fight with my PC and sound card, so... maybe time to give Franky a "make over"?

Guillermo, gracias de corazón por este dueto.... tú ya sabes que adoro cantar contigo, verdad? (es una indirecta no muy sutil eh? jajaja) ;) Muchos muchos besos y abrazos!!
