Well, since Fileden disappeared, I had to move all my files and relocate them in a new server. That's why some of the links (the Fileden ones) won't work , and neither the player on the right hand side of the page. I hope I can complete the task soon, thanks for your patient and sorry about this hiccup!

So far away.... but always in my heart.... My beautiful Gran Canaria...
"
There are many versions of this song, but when Guillermo let me know about KD Lang's, I knew I had to sing it... and luckily, he played his wonderful guitar for me! :) Here is the result, we hope you like it!
Making this song was like a dream come true.. I remember being a little girl, and listening to it over and over again. I used to think it had some kind of magic, or even a spell.. something very special and unique. Today, it's even more special than then, and that's a lot to say! Guillermo gave me this wonderful gift, with his talent and his guitar we were able to make a very personal version of this lovely piece. I hope you enjoy! And Guillermo, one more time... THANK YOU for this little treasure, I love you! :)))
Since I am very busy these days and no time to re-do all the blog entries with a new suitable player, here you have another new entry via Soundcloud. Another duet with my dear Guillermo, all instruments and voices by us :)
I don't know (yet) the reason why all the music in my blog suddenly disappeared. As you can see, there are no players anymore, and it is not a Fileden problem, I have checked and all my files are still there. I will look for another type of player and re-build all the blog entries again, so please be patient! Thank you all for your support, always. Abrazos!
Another band I grew up listening to and that I like so much .... These are some of my covers, made some time ago, they are very special for me, specially Songbird... I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy New Year... may all your dreams and wishes come true and may all reunite here together next year to celebrate again! :))) Warm hugs and kisses! Próspero año 2012 para todos!!
I know it has been a long time since the last blog entry, no doubt! But that doesn't mean we haven't been singing and playing and making new songs :) This is the first of many to come, a Neil Diamond and Shirley Bassey duet version of the wellknown "Play me". It was recorded quite a while back but nevertheless, we feel it's special for us... even if in the backgroud you can hear the tratatatata of some machines LOL We hope you like this one anyway.. Singing with the best duet partner I could have ever found.. from the heart, gracias Guillermo mbl!!! :):):)
I guess some of you will remember that I already sang this song, with a backing track, around 3 years ago (you can find it in the dew player, on the right hand of this page, at the very top). I used to listen to this song when I was very young. I would listen to the lyrics and wonder if someday I would be so lucky to find such deep and profound love like the one Dan Fogelberg was singing about. And who said dreams don't come true? :):):) What a better gift that singing this special song with him... Guillermo and Mónica, unplugged duet
"Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens.. I've been in love with you.. I am in love with you... I'll be in love with you".
"Love Deluxe"..... This is for me, without any doubt, one of Sade's best albums. Every song in there seems to have so much personality, life on its own. It doesn't matter that it's almost 20 years old now, it sounds so "fresh" and original still. And from all the songs in there, my favourite, this one. A special song that goes for a very special person, my AG, you know who you are :) "There must have been an angel by my side, something heavenly lead me to you.. look at the sky, it's the colour of love"
My dear friends, here I am, back after a couple of months of absence. And for this return, I chose this beautiful song, by the wonderful Miss Roberta Flack. As some of you know, I am still trying to fix my microphone *sighs* So I opened "the vault" ;) and rescued this one, I hope you enjoy it.
There are certain moments in life that we will never ever forget. Such very special times, places... but what makes them all that special is the people we create those memories with. They are all that matters. Dedicated to a very special someone who helped me create the best memories of my entire life. For you.....
And of course, Merry Christmas to all of you! Feliz Navidad! (^___^)
You all know how I love singing The Carpenters, hehe, nothing knew so far. But now I have a very special guest dueting here with me and isn't he fantastic! His warm rich voice and his magistral whistling makes this recordings so very special .
But most of all, he is a very good friend, who even taught me how to whistle in 10 easy steps! ;) Maybe one day I will surprise you all , who knows hey? So to my dear Mike ..... a million thanks my friend, for making this possible :)))) The mixing its all his, by the way, and more coming soon ! It can happen that out of the blue, we meet a certain someone whose light shines so bright and so powerful, that takes all the darkness away, and touches our heart and soul in such a wonderful way that nothing will ever be the same.... Light of my life....shine on...say you'll be, for ever be, light of my life .....
I am sure many of you know by now I am a truly Bread fan :) Here you have some of my old renditions plus three new ones :
* Baby am I want you
* Call on me
* Been too long on the road
I know the last two may not be among their most popular ones, but I like singing them so much. Even if I had to sing along with them again, unfortunately no backing tracks available, but I tried to bring my voice to the front as much as I could. Hope you enjoy it and as always feel free to leave your comments, muchas gracias ! :)
And after a very long break.... here I am again! So many things happening in my life lately and too little time, but hey... I don't complain :) I hope to be back soon to post a couple of new songs, but in the meantime, here you have some more Norah Jones. I do enjoy singing her songs, somebody "pushed" me to try them, and all I can say is thank youuuuuuuu! *muuuaaaahhhh*
"Bread" has always been one of my favourite bands, for so many reasons. I used to listen to them a lot when I was little... many years have passed and here I am still enjoying and singing their songs (shame I can't play guitar like them hehe).
They have some powerful rock tunes, oh yes. But also really beautiful slow songs. Some of them, as simple as this one, that talks about someone on a plane watching the clouds and reflecting on many things in his life... I guess many of us have done that sometime on a plane. Look through the window and amaze ourselves at the beauty of an endless sky, and us being on top of the clouds, way up high.... and maybe , like me, wishing that for a moment we could step out of the plane and simply land on one of those fluffy clouds.... Hmm I wonder... what's the smell of clouds? :) Does anybody know?
The picture I used for this post is actually from Gran Canaria (you can click on it for a closer view). That rock you can see there is "El Roque Nublo". You can walk up there and watch "El Teide" on the island in front of us, Tenerife... and then enjoy the seacloud (mar de nubes) .... millions of clouds in between.... Beautiful, isn't it?
"Come away with me and I will write you a song ... Come away with me and we'll kiss on a mountain top... Come away with me and I'll never stop loving you... So all I ask is .... for you to come away with me in the night"
This Norah Jones' song is really beautiful. Well, at least to me it is. And I never thought I would dare to do a cover with my voice, but you know... well, nothing is impossible, never say never , etc hehe... :) I sang this very late , on a quite night, when I just felt sort of inspired to do it. In some parts I am almost whispering. But isn't it funny how sometimes we hear a song and we know we just have to sing it, right there and then. So here it is! Please feel free to leave me feedback.
Lately I am feeling more "adventurous" to try different styles , many of my all time favourite songs, very special ones, that I never thought I would do... and they will be coming to this site, little by little. It makes me very happy and I have to say, I have had a lot of support to challenge myself and to even discover new "voices" in me, like it happened here with this song. So to my dear "supporter" friend hehe ... an infinite "thank you" and many kisses and hugs!! ;)
Well, it seems there are some problems with the place where I host my music files. And sometimes you can hear the songs, some other times you can't. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do, except to wait for that site to solve those problems. The songs in the playlist are not affected, since they are stored somewhere else. I am sorry for this little inconvenience, and I do hope it all will be back to normal soon! Thanks for coming, your support and your comments mean a lot to me. Have a great weekend!
Well, and today, after a long time away from the microphone, I sang again. It was a strange feeling, after all these difficult months, but it couldn't have been any better, and I couldn't be any happier. I had the chance to duet with a very special friend of mine, great guitar player and singer and also the one to blame for this collaboration, since it was all his idea! ;) He chose the song and it was love at first listening! "Another day that time forgot" by Neil Diamond and Natalie Maines, lead vocalist of the Dixie Chicks, a beautiful ballad that we sort of sped up a little bit for the acustic version.
This is my first time singing an "unpigged" (I guess I will keep calling them like this from now on ahaha) and I enjoyed it soooo so much! It was very easy to follow Guillermo's lead, the singing came very easy and natural to me, as if we had been duet partners for ever! ;) The only problem I had was my eternal fight with my PC and sound card, so... maybe time to give Franky a "make over"?
Guillermo, gracias de corazón por este dueto.... tú ya sabes que adoro cantar contigo, verdad? (es una indirecta no muy sutil eh? jajaja) ;) Muchos muchos besos y abrazos!!
